Jeanne returns from her apprenticeship this day very quiet and withdrawn. She skips dinner by telling the Blacks she is coming down with something. When the other kids come up afterwards, she appears to be asleep.

Anyone awake later that night (maybe returning from elsewhere or the Tower) may notice that Jeanne has quietly left in the middle of the night. She is back by morning, still quiet and looking tired.
