**Description:** Valerie came to the orphanage because she was "cursed" as far as she has remembered she has always had long white hair, and has one green eye, and one blue eye. Her race is unclear, but her skin is a strange yellow color. She was dropped off by a woman who died on the steps of the orphanage.
Mrs. Black does not buy into any of the rumors, but she respects her guests, so Valerie is given tasks that keep her out of view of the staff. Valerie doesn't do much to dispel the rumors. She talks in a very quiet voice, and likes to hang out in the cemetery. She generally keeps to herself. The only person she really seems to talk to is Callahan. They both have spent long hours talking in the cemetery, but its unclear about what. Callahan has gotten into some fights (and been beaten for it) over other children teasing Valerie.
