====The Order of the Iron Thorn====

**Location:** [[TheScholarsGuildCitadel The Scholar's Guild Citadel]], Tibet

**Summary:** The Order of the Iron Thorn was founded by Virgil Belmont in 718 CE after the [[TheGuildWar Guild War]].  The Guild War had led to the destruction of the schools once used to train new members of the [[TheWarriorsGuild Warriors Guild]], including the [[TheOrderoftheSteelRose Order of the Steel Rose]] and [[GakkouNoHaNoMichi Gakkou No Ha No Michi]].  Taking the remaining members of the Steel Rose and those of the Warriors Guild who had joined them, Virgil returned to the safety of the Scholar's Guild Citadel and established this new institution.  Rather than focusing on training new members of the Warriors Guild, which after the war was defunct, he trained these students with the skills needed to protect the Scholars Guild and the precious contents it contained.  Over the years Virgil would have members of the Order join in the activities of the [[TheNine Nine]] as they struggled to combat the [[Wraiths]].  Such instances include dealing with the Seal in Africa, The Battle of Jerusalem, the Plagues in the 1300s and the [[AustralianIncident Australian Incident]].  Upon the loss of Virgil in his physical form during the conflict in Australia, one of his students, [[Yu]] takes command of the Order in order to continue to work towards the objective his mentor had established.
