There is a cloud of methyl isocyanine gas that escapes after an explosion at the Union Carbide pesticide plant due to metahuman activity. Priya's father, as one of the city leaders is brought into investigate and is confronted by tBoys In Blue who have come to deal with the aftermath of the situation. Priya is made curious in overhearing her father's stories of the event and goes with a friend to investigate. While at the plant, she is confronted by Boys In Blue who tell too much to this cute, local girl. This breach is brought to the attention of higher levels within the Boys In Blue who then go speak with Priya and her friend. Bhushan is there for this meeting and sees the Agency as a possible outlet for his daughter, a way for her to go beyond simply marrying well and having children and making more of a difference in the world as he is trying to do within his own town. Her friend however, is prevented from joining the Agency by her more chauvinistic father and a marriage to a local man is quickly arranged for her.
Priya was eventually assigned to [[DeviChaaya Devi Chaaya]] in 1999. She moved from India to a suburb of London so that her teenaged charge could be educated. She was occasionally called in to help [[TheAgency the Agency]] when they were short-staffed and needed help in the London area. They lived in London for three years, after which time Devi broke contact with the Agency and disappeared. Priya has spent the last few years looking for her charge, and helping the Agency when necessary.
