They find [[Hugh Mi-yen's companion]] on the ground, [[Alaistar Rolo]]’s head on his leg. [[Alexi Tessa]] is nearby being guarded by [[AshamAshari Asham]] and [[Winter]]. In the center of the explosion is a crumpled body. After a moment [[Hugh Mi-yen's companion]] moves and [[Winter]] rushes over to help [[Alaistar Rolo]]. He comes around, his head being cradled by [[Alexi Tessa]], and [[Winter]] rubbing smelling salts under his nose.
After the fighting the silence is deafening. The girl with the tattoos examines the door next to where the fighting took place. A puzzled look on her face.
[[RenjiYoritomo Omi's companion]] turns to [[Miyen Mi-yen]], "Nice moves" he says smiling. [[Miyen Mi-yen]] gives [[RenjiYoritomo Omi's companion]] a light flicker of a smile then turns to watch down the hallway, sword still at the ready, quiver empty.
[[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] speaks to [[Alaistar Rolo]], "What happened here."
The man in white says, "Wraiths..." examining the mangled corpse on the ground.”Snake clan." He grows quiet as if listening to something.
[[Alaistar Rolo]] hugs [[Alexi Tessa]] close and he kisses her. [[Alaistar Rolo]], speaking to [[Alexi Tessa]] says, “He was coming for you . . . for your soul”.
[[Omi]] rounds the corner looking concerned. "Yes, but all a ploy."
[[WuWong Wu]], "What do you mean?"
[[Raven]], "He means that the wraiths attacks were covers, distractions to carry us away."
[[VirgilBelmont Virgil]], "But then what is their true purpose, they would not move in numbers like this for simple death, there is plenty of easier targets."
[[Raven]] "They are adjusting the gateways, moving the locations, and this door...”
The man in white says "We must get in this door."
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] says "What? Why..." he moves forward, "If we want to open the door…” He moves to push on the door.
[[Raven]] cries out, "No STOP!"
[[WuWong Wu]] dives to catch [[SebastianNemo Nemo's]] hand and pushes him away from the door. The door crackles with power and runes flare, [[WuWong Wu]] is thrown violently away from the door and lands in with a crunch on the other side of the door.
[[Miyen Mi-yen’s]] sword raises a little, anticipating a fight.
“One second” says [[Alaistar Rolo]], “Red robes, "I saw red robes on the other side of the door before it shut.”
[[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] draws his blade and [[Winter]] cries out and rushes to [[WuWong Wu’s]] side.
[[WuWong Wu]] groans and [[Winter]] looks distraught. [[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] goes to one knee next to him.
The man in white speaks again. "The door is sealed from the inside. They are moving something into there, from Luoyang. I dare not listen in more or they will notice my presence."
“How big is the chamber on the other side?” [[Miyen Mi-yen]] asks.
The glowing girl speaks "It is one of the large research chambers. 1000’ radius.”
"They are bringing their machine" [[Miyen Mi-yen]] whispers with concern.
One of the men in red speaks, "That’s impossible, the only gateway is outside. They hold that, but they cannot just establish another connection."
[[Raven]] speaks, "They had already shut down that connection, I have closed their link, I think but they had move their location well before."
[[Omi]] says, "They have sealed us off, but I’m sure they can hear us, we should retire away from this place, post guards, and discuss our next move in safety, nothing can be gained here."
The old man in orange says, "Agreed, the inner ring is the strongest point, [[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] post guards and meet us there."
Everyone is lead into a large meeting chamber in the ring that appears to be deepest into the mountain. Everyone enters.
The man in white speaks first, "I have overheard some of what the Snakes are planning, my skills are limited but I do still hear some of their words." The younger woman, who had been glowing and flying during the battle, looks up at him, concern in her eyes. "I do not know their plans but they are not mounting an attack, they are holding, content to leave us here, that much I am certain."
One of the men in red speaks; he has a mane of silver hair. "And how can we trust that! Even if you can hear what you claim, it could be that they are sending you false information! Trying to throw us off as they prepare to kill us!"
[[ZinRaishin Zin]] speaks, "No, he is right; if they plan an offensive it will not come now, if they wanted to crush us they could have done so with their numbers. They have something planned, and if it comes, it will come on the moonless night 2 days from now."
[[Alaistar Rolo]] says, “Before we can plan I think we need to know what we are facing. I fear there maybe traitors in our midst. How did they even gain entry? Since it was red robes I saw on the other side of the door perhaps you may have some suggestions”. [[Alaistar Rolo]] stares at the man with silver hair who just spoke when he says this.
"I believe, they are building a machine to allow one of their kind, another, more powerful Wraith across." [[Miyen Mi-yen]] says sternly, directing it at [[ZinRaishin Zin]] and [[Omi]].
Another man, taller in red robes with long black hair speaks in response to [[Alaistar Rolo]]. "And if I am correct you blame the Alchemists?"
[[ZinRaishin Zin]] speaks to [[Miyen Mi-yen]], "Is that what the machine that [[PoratomoRaishin Po]] was building intended?"
[[Winter]] says, between [[Alaistar Rolo]] and the dark haired man in the red robe, "No one is blaming anyone here."
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] says, "I think I know blame when I hear it...We lost 3 brothers defending the gates, do you think that was our plan too boy?" looking at [[Alaistar Rolo]].
"I believe so." [[Miyen Mi-yen]] says to [[ZinRaishin Zin]] and [[Omi]]. She turns to the group, "I also saw a Snake Wraith take an man wearing your red robes not so long ago. It could be they have infiltrated your Guild without your knowledge".
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] says, "A wraith? In the alchemists?!" He looks towards the man with black hair.
The man with black hair responds, "The runes would prevent such a thing, fear not.” He continues, “If we are to speak of traitors, it was not till Po's brother and slave arrived that this began, perhaps they brought the wraiths upon us."
“Let us speak of what we know.” Says [[Alaistar Rolo]], “We know the wraiths were stopped at the balcony and none came in through the front gates.”
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] says, "No, no more blame! They fought bravely I will not let you accuse them [[Nicodemus]], nor will I allow them to accuse us."
“HOW did they gain entrance?” asks [[Alaistar Rolo]].
[[Raven]] speaks slowly. "The door had been tampered with, its location redirected, I cannot be certain but I believe they created a direct link between Luoyang and that chamber, hours before the fighting even started."
“But then why fight?” asks [[Alaistar Rolo]]. “They could have entered directly and still sealed the door.”
[[Raven]] speaks, "I do not know."
[[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] says, "I do." He continues, "There are regular guard patrols thought the halls, if the attack had not come, guards would have checked that very chamber moments after I was summoned to the attack on the balcony. If they had waited even a moment more we would have discovered them."
"So they distract us, enabling them to create a doorway into that chamber and seal it off in order to bring their machine here and have trapped us all here as well, ready for use." [[Miyen Mi-yen]] says grimly.
"That appears to be their plan." [[VirgilBelmont Virgil]] says, returning [[Miyen Mi-yen’s]] grim look
“I don't understand.” Says [[Alaistar Rolo]], “how did they create a "direct link" to the chamber - and if they did how could guards possibly discover them unless the guards also examine the chamber, and if that's the case - why wouldn't they just seal the door and they'd be no worse off than they are now.”
"What is there to not understand!?" [[WuWong Wu]] says looking incredulously though the pain. "We have been betrayed, by a traitor in our midst. Someone smuggled an inactive gateway into one of the research chambers. And they have now blocked the way out, as well as preventing us from interfering. We are prisoners, to be dealt with when they chose. " Fear fills his eyes, "we have been sold to our deaths by the Alchemists!"
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] stands, angry. But [[Omi]] raises a hand and cuts him off.
“You mean a gate like the sewers?” [[Alaistar Rolo]] asks. [[ZinRaishin Zin]] nods at him.
“Who fixed the gateway here after it was destroyed by [[PoratomoRaishin Po]]?” asks [[Alaistar Rolo]], “can another be created?
[[ZinRaishin Zin]] puts his hand on [[Alaistar Rolo]]’s shoulder to stop him from speaking before [[Omi]].
