====Part 2 of the [[FoundationoftheNine Foundation of the Nine]] - Inside the Gates====

The front of group reaches the huge stone gates. The doors close, leaving them in a large entryway with two hallways leading off to either side and a path into an inner courtyard. The room grows unnaturally warm when they enter, like entering a heated building. The entryway is supported by large stone pillars adorned with silvery runes of every make and shape imaginable. The central courtyard in front is very beautiful, but arranged in very hermetic rows, like a greenhouse, each plant labeled with a small white marker. The greenery is of every shape and size imaginable, and there are at least three different animals making their way though the idyllic garden. There is something odd about the architecture in the [[TheScholarsGuild Scholar’s Guild]], its all circular. There are no hard lines anywhere, the arches are circles, the rooms are circles, the walls bend slightly as they run down the hallways implying that its circular everywhere. The only hard lines at all are in the doorways, which are all square or rectangular, but when closed they only complete the circular wall.
From the passageway on the left a man approaches. He is nearly 7' tall and his skin is a dark brown tone. He is nearly nude, save for a small loincloth, from which a long and dangerous looking knife hangs. His face is cast with African features, and his chest and arms are marked with what looks like war paint in vaguely rune like structures.
From the passage on the right, a tall raven haired Caucasian [[SebastianNemo man]] approaches, he looks sleepy but genuinely worried, and an ink smudge marks his nose. He looks like he dressed hurriedly and sleep still clings to his eyes, he has a simple necklace that holds a silver pentacle, and he is pulling on the red robes of the Alchemists guild as he approaches.
The 9 guards disperse.
[[Miyen Mi-yen]] frowns slightly at the red robed figure but quickly regains her composure.
The Alchemist is the first to speak, "W-What is going on? Who are these people."
[[WuWong Wu]] speaks, "Guests of the [[TheScholarsGuild Scholar’s Guild]] [[SebastianNemo Nemo]], I assume I am still master of my father's house enough to know when to invite people in."
Omi’s tall [[RenjiYoritomo companion]] speaks under his breath, "Didn’t seem to have that common sense a few minutes ago." [[Miyen Mi-yen]] grins slightly. [[Alaistar Rolo]] looks down and does the same.
[[Omi]] subtly wraps the tall mans foot with his bamboo staff and the taller man falls silent.
The African man bows deeply, and addresses the whole group. "Greetings one and all, it seems that this will a great gathering as [[NDore N’Dore]] has foretold. I am [[AshamAshari Asham]] I am honored to meet you." [[Alaistar Rolo]] nods his head gently. [[Miyen Mi-yen]] bows her head towards the figure. [[ZinRaishin Zin]], [[Omi]] and his friend all bow deeply.
[[Omi]] speaks, "You are far from home Ashari, has [[NDore N’Dore]] sent you all this way?"
[[AshamAshari Asham]] looks grave, "Yes, she has given me a quest."
[[SebastianNemo Nemo]] sighs. "I guess it cannot be helped then." He gathers up his robes sleepily. "I’m sorry for my rudeness. I am [[SebastianNemo Sebastian Nemo]], Magus of the [[TheAlchemists Alchemists]] Guild. I am pleased to meet you as well."
[[Omi]] smiles politely and moves closer to [[AshamAshari Asham]]. [[Alaistar Rolo]] nods his head gently. [[Miyen Mi-yen]] nods her head ever so slightly to [[SebastianNemo Nemo]].
[[WuWong Wu]] says, "I feel we have much to discuss with our guests, there is food and drink this way." He turns to lead though the garden.
As they move, the albino girl falls into step with [[Alaistar Rolo]]. She whispers in low tones, "It is nice to see you after all this time. I thought [[ZinRaishin Zin]] was dead?". [[Alaistar Rolo]] responds in Tibetan.
[[Omi]] speaks to [[AshamAshari Asham]], in his god tongue but it is now directed, focused and no one can understand it but [[AshamAshari Asham]] seems to. [[AshamAshari Asham]] says in response to [[Omi]], in the same tongue but all can understand, "For three days the mountain shakes, no way out no way to break. They bind the gates but fear for not, a gray wind breaks, and does fear not. Inside the mirror lies their world, with daggers bound their sails unfurl, 9 warriors will be their sap, forever live, forever trapped."
[[Omi]] regards the words gravely, and nods to himself as they enter into a smaller room off the main courtyard. [[SebastianNemo Nemo]] has vanished somewhere during the walk, and the rest enter into a large room that is dominated by a large round table. The table has runes carved into it. [[WuWong Wu]] goes to a side panel and produces a teapot and teacups for all. He manifests, and his hands glow slightly heating the tea, which he pours for all present.
“A useful gift against wraiths…” [[Alaistar Rolo]] says.
[[WuWong Wu]] looks taken a aback a bit. And [[ZinRaishin Zin]] speaks, "[[Alaistar Rolo]] is right, now is not the time for tea, the wraiths are on the move. Pleasantries can wait."
[[WuWong Wu]] says, "What about the wraiths?"
[[ZinRaishin Zin]] says, "They are moving, coming here."
"And in great numbers" [[Miyen Mi-yen]] adds quietly.
[[WuWong Wu]] says, "you are disillusioned or mistaken, the Wraiths do not move in numbers, and they do not move past their boarders."
She raises an eyebrow at [[WuWong Wu]]. "They are not in Luoyang, so they must have gone somewhere. They are seeking the last part of a machine to fulfill their plans, and my guess is it may be here. They will come for it, in numbers and across any borders." [[WuWong Wu]] looks hurt.
“Perhaps the same machine that [[PoratomoRaishin Po]] once sought to build.” says [[Alaistar Rolo]]. “The [[TheScholarsGuild Scholar's Guild]] must remember that battle…”
[[WuWong Wu's]] face darkens. "We do remember, and we remember how you helped [[PoratomoRaishin Po]]."
“A mistake. I've made many.” Says [[Alaistar Rolo]].
"But they cannot cross the river, even if they wanted to come here..." [[WuWong Wu]] says.
“They will not have to - they have found entry into the sewers” [[Alaistar Rolo]] continues.
[[RenjiYoritomo Omi’s companion]] says, "They will not need the sewers, they have damned the river, and are crossing."
"How long will they be?" asks [[Miyen Mi-yen]].
[[WuWong Wu]] speaks, "I am supposed to take the word of an enemy? How do I know you are not working for the wraiths as you have in the past? As you brother did!" He says poking an accusatory finger at [[ZinRaishin Zin]].
[[Omi]] looks darkly at [[AshamAshari Asham]], “3 days, give or take.” In answer to [[Miyen Mi-yen's]] question.
“In what matter have they damned the river?” asks [[Alaistar Rolo]], “freeing it should pose little challenge that should at least slow them. We should send a contingent immediately.” [[RenjiYoritomo Omi’s companion]] brightens, and looks ready to head out.
“Not if they have already crossed.” Counters [[Miyen Mi-yen]].
[[Alaistar Rolo]] looks at [[Omi]] and ask, “They can't all have crossed already have they?”
[[Omi]] puts his hand on the taller mans leg to keep him seated. "We could go, and we might slow them. But I doubt we could, we saw at least two thousand hollows working the ford. We would be throwing our lives away."
[[Alaistar Rolo]] swears.
[[WuWong Wu]] says, "Two thousand? That would mean at least all of the northern families are moving together.”
"Dragon, Snake and Tiger at least" says [[Miyen Mi-yen]].
[[WuWong Wu]] grows pale and looks stunned. "You must have miscounted, this must be a lie."
[[Alaistar Rolo]] looks disgusted at [[WuWong Wu's]] response.
[[Winter]] says, "You cannot lie in the true tongue [[WuWong Wu]], he is speaking the truth." [[WuWong Wu]] looks at her smiles for a moment, then looks grim again. "What, then what should we do? What do the wraiths want?"
“Where are the weapon molds that [[PoratomoRaishin Po]] sought?” asks [[Alaistar Rolo]], “destroy them.” He continues.
"They are looking for the last piece to finish their machine". Says [[Miyen Mi-yen]].
[[AshamAshari Asham]] says, "We should wake the others. We must make plans for defense.”
[[WuWong Wu]] rises, "You are right of course, I will" Just then there is what sounds like an explosion. The explosion rocks the chamber, [[WuWong Wu]] exchanges a glance with [[Winter]] and says, "That sounded like it came from the west wall...?" He sounds confused. "But how.." Since she is already standing and on edge, [[Miyen Mi-yen]] seems to be ready to go to wherever the explosion has occurred.
[[AshamAshari Asham]] says, "If we are under assault there is no time to waste." He heads for the door. [[RenjiYoritomo Omi’s companion]] with a broad smile on his face moves to follow.
[[Omi]] turns to [[WuWong Wu]], "Rouse the captain of the guards young man, he will know what to do." [[Miyen Mi-yen]] follows [[AshamAshari Asham]]
[[Alaistar Rolo]] speaks to [[Winter]] then he stands up and looks at [[ZinRaishin Zin]].
[[WuWong Wu]] turns to [[Winter]], "Get [[VirgilBelmont Virgil]], I will go with them to defend my home." [[ZinRaishin Zin]] looks back at [[Alaistar Rolo]] and nods at him, his power coming up around him like a dark cloud. [[Winter]] nods at both [[Alaistar Rolo]] and [[WuWong Wu]], then takes [[Alexi Tessa]] by the hand, leading her out a door in the opposite direction of the noise.
[[Omi]] exchanges one last look at his companion as he heads for the door and sips his tea, looking thoughtful. The rest head out the door.
