**Description:**
She was left at the orphanage by her mother when she was 7. Her mother couldn't care for her and Mrs. Black agreed to take on the little girl if the mother cleaned up her act. The mother hasn't been heard from since, but Minnie holds onto the hope of her return and visions of having a home together, somewhere she can grow all the fruits and vegetables they could ever need. She's content to obey and wait until that happens.

**Description:
Minnie is a thin girl with long raven black hair that she keeps in a long braid. She has a bright smile and a loving personality, but is a bit of a homebody, she really does not like getting beaten and will do her utmost to "be a good child" so that that does not happen.
Minnie likes the garden and anything involved in growing and fostering plant life. She tends to the plants on the porches and inside the hotel. She tries to have her own little garden on the window sill of the dorm, using broken bowls or cups from the kitchen and dirt and seeds from the garden. She's very protective of her plants and gets mad when anyone disturbs them when sneaking out.
(A double badness in her book, both that they are being bad, and they are disturbing her plants).
