- Devi can use the portal to create shadows/portals on the other side that are technically out of sight, but they're shaky, and probably unreliable.
- The same experiment, but passing the medallion to Alistair before beginning to run, results in the medallion manifesting hugely, a mile or more, and burns Alistair's hand. Elana still does not meet herself.

These pins are almost impossible for someone without mega-perception to locate, but are relatively easy for even non-meta's to find once the location has been pointed out to them. When all four pins are pulled out slightly, the disk in the center of the medallion whirs around to form a sphere. A viewing panel appears. By manipulating the pins in and out, the user can move the viewpoint on this panel. When the user stops moving the pins, there is a slight pause, then a portal opens up to the location shown in the viewing panel.
