Dear Celeste,

I can hardly believe that so many of us are gone from St. James. I am sad to be apart, but it was too hard to be there, so I understand why you left early. Still, you should know that no matter what Shawn said, it was not your fault. I am glad to hear you have arrived in Philadelphia. I wonder what it would feel like to be so cold? Memphis is not too much different than New Orleans in temperature. I will have to work my way up to Philadelphia someday, and find out for myself what it is like! I dream of traveling, but for now I am learning my new world in the way I learned New Orleans: with the street folk. Only now instead of stealing from them, I am making pictures of them. I find we are on friendlier terms this way!

I hope your living situation brings you new friends but that you will still remember and write to us. Wish I were there to leave something on your pillow!

Jeanne
