They are cousins and Josephine is the sister of Beryl Gatwood a shy young man who spends most of the party nodding in other people's conversations and, especially when the dancing starts, twirling a derby in his hands. They are nieces and nephew to [[Mrs. Charles Gatwood]] who stayed at the hotel last summer. The girls appear to be talking "sweetly" to Ella who keeps her focus on the piano for the most part. The two girls notice the boys hovering outside and end up venturing over to them while the party goes on. Ella seems pretty steamed, taking her aggressions out on the keys and heading out on a walkabout when the party's over, most likely on her own. #>
