====Ella====
**Born:** Late summer, 1860

<#kate: At 9, Ella arrives at the Hotel on the 22nd of August 1969 and is small for her age, barely reaching 48 inches and scrawny, no more then 50 pounds.  She is all arms and legs, with scrapes and scabs on her elbows and knees and a few on her chin and cheeks.  She has high cheekbones, a stubby little nose, and dark black, wavy hair reaching to mid-back that is usually plaited or a tangled mess.  She has light brown skin with a warm undertone and large, gray eyes mimicking a cloudy day. Even for someone so young, she is strong willed and has a defiant backbone. She sticks to what she thinks is right especially in how people should treat one another, defends those she feels are being unduly berated and has an overall zest for life and curiosity about new things.  She has a love of music and dancing and will take almost any opportunity (approved or not) to watch people sing, play or dance in the Hotel parlor or anywhere within range of the Orphanage. She eagerly learns music, both playing instruments and songs and she seems to have a knack for picking up such things. Her discovery of sheet music within the bench of the piano, inspires her to ask Louis about reading. #>
