Additions:
<#kate: Makes sense to me that the boys = window side. This would not inhibit Ella from using it (the window) at all whenever she wants, boys shrieking or otherwise. Also, I never thought of the curtain as an unmoving wall, but more like blinds that could be pulled back and forth as needed so it's not such a permanent obstruction as a screen when desired. #>

<#bill: That looks fine to me. As far as the beds, Ann you kind of hit on what would be Cole's argument. The girls want the curtain, not the boys. The boys don't care if the girls come on their side etc (but they probably will tease them a bit at first - grabbing sheets and pillows to cover themselves and shrieking like they're naked if the girls pass through.) And it's not fair to essentially cut off the boy's access to the tower/limit them to only when the girls are going. I'm not sure Minnie cares one way or the other about the sides, because she's not concerned about access to the tower. She would, however, not be swayed by Cole's argument because she doesn't think //anyone// should be going to the tower anyway. When she vocalizes this she is shot down by everyone.
Also, Cole gets quite mad at Minnie. He would have been annoyed with her even if she'd gone straight to the adults...because he rarely thinks it's a good idea to involve them in anything. But he's extra annoyed to that they resolved the issue among themselves by agreeing to a curtain etc and she still went to them. That seems unfair/unjust to him. He tells her so. He then proceeds to make her life a little difficult for the next few days. Pulling pranks on her that are real subtle and hard to even say is a prank and therefore be able to tell the adults about (for example, taking her favorite ribbon from atop her little table and hiding it underneath her bed...she panics for the brief time she can't find it, but when it's found she can't say that it couldn't have fallen off by itself. #>

Additions:
<#bill: My bad. I wasn't part of the original chat. My recollection was from Jonah and I talking and, in fact, I confused what was said between us. So, boys only tease is cool.
<#jonah: My memory is that the girls decided that they needed the boys to make a reason for them to put up the curtain, so we invented one.
I'd propose we go with this outline:
Ollie is dared by Cole or Cal (JP: I don't care) to steal Minnie's chemise, and not wanting to look chicken, Ollie does it. However, he gets caught by Minnie in the act. The girls all rally to Minnie's side, and try to rearrange the beds to put a curtain between them.
Later, Minnie (not yet mollified, apparently) blabs to the Blacks, and the boys all end up in a lineup, with Cal and Shawn and Cole all fighting to take the blame. Ollie, however, steps forwards and tells the Blacks that it was him. Already having heard the truth of it from Minnie, they punish Cal/Shawn/Cole for lying, and Ollie for doing the deed. The boys are sent to muck out the outhouse as penance.

Thoughts? #>

<#ann: Hmmm, access to the window and stairs is going to be complicated. There isn't a way to give both sides equal access to both without one group having to walk through the other group's space at some point. There are too many girls to put the curtain up between the two window beds without having to awkwardly make an L shape. So I guess we'll have to make it window/nonwindow. So now starts the knock-down drag-out fight. Which gender gets which side? Deco, Jefferson, Minnie, Erin, and possibly Valerie probably do not care, but a lot of other people care to varying degrees. My guess is that whoever gets the window side makes a big show of letting the other side pass through whenever they way. Which says to me that it is probably going to be the boys' side, because Minnie is not going to agree to people traipsing through "her" space every night. That would defeat the entire purpose of the curtain.
Btw, Ella hasn't chosen a bed pre-curtain yet. After the curtain goes up if the boys get the window side, then I'll switch beds with Ollie.#>

BTW, Cole doesn't mind the curtain going up or anything, but if they try to make him move from his bed...he'd going to object. He wants to be on the side by the window. #>

<#kate: I remember it being a boys only tease / dare to steal Minnie's clothes while she was washing up. I feel like powers and such might come into this too - so sorry for putting up an event well after Ella arrives like we were told not to =P. Just wanted to get it in before I forgot! #>

<#ann: I don't remember the girls being in on that. I thought Cole and/or Callahan dared Ollie to do it. Minnie is definitely out for revenge. I think she manages to convince at least some of the others about the propriety of the situation. I have to work out the dates on some other things before I decide exactly how Celeste feels at this time. #>

<#bill: Was it stealing Minnie's chemise? I'll point out that, as I recall, at least some of the girls were in on that...so it wouldn't totally make sense for them all to but up in arms over it. That said...they're teenaged girls so they don't have to totally make sense :-) No offense, ladies. #>
