======Cold Steel======

Cold Steel is a mystical substance that initially arrived on earth via a meteorite from a passing comet.  Subsequent passings of this comet, usually arriving ever 225 years, leads to the deposits of additional cold steel in random locations on the planet.  The rarity of the substance means it is highly prized and sought after to the point of outright war within metahuman factions.  The properties of Cold Steel make it dangerous.  The Cold Steel will always seek a source of power from which to feed and will take from the life source or power source of the individual that touches it.  For normal humans this means instant death since the Cold Steel drains their life in order to feed itself.  Metahumans and Carriers can touch the substance since it is possible for them to allow the Cold Steel to feed off of their power source instead of draining their life energy, but must do so with care .  Another property of Cold Steel is that it can retain the abilities of the metahuman who has last used it.  Similarly, Cold Steel can be forged via a ColdForge into weapons and jewelry that can be amplified by runes and used by metahumans and carriers to access the embedded abilities within the item

3 and a half pounds of Cold Steel bricks were auctioned off at the SothebysIncident.  The bidding was between DeonJones, LukeTrent, ChrisShank and RashneHanif.  It was obtained by LukeTrent for 1 billion dollars.
