Additions:
A friend of Mr. Black from during the war. They socialize with one another in the evenings and Claude seems happy to be at the Hotel. He's friendly and boisterous, making easy acquaintances with other visitors and can smooth his wife's feathers, and even those of Mrs. Black when they are ruffled.
