Like most of the children I know, Celeste through the years has a series of intense interests that occupy her attention for months, then are either summarily dropped or put on the backburner to be a lifelong interest but at a much lower level of intensity. These interests include: birdwatching (possibly inspired by one of Ollie's foundlings?), tatting, whittling wooden figures, astronomy/astrology, Latin. She learns some card tricks from Cole, dancing and music from Ella, French from Jeanne and Ollie (and Louis).
