Jeanne has been at the orphanage for about two weeks.  She is especially jumpy and distracted today, and seems to be keeping a close eye on Mrs. Black.  She startles whenever she is near the front door and anyone shows up.  (She does not mention anything about a birthday).

After the children go to bed, they can hear her sobbing quietly (which she has not done before).  In the morning, she gets up, red-eyed, and continues on as she has been, making no mention of the night before.  If she is a bit more subdued than the previous days, it could easily be chalked up to tiredness.

<#court: Jeanne is pretty unresponsive to any general queries.  She initially looks a bit appalled that someone heard her enough to come check. And then turns away and puts the blanket over her head.  She still snuffles but is clearly trying to be quieter. #>
