Dear everyone, I have arrived in Philadelphia, though I can scarce believe that the journey is at last over. Riding a train was thrilling ... for the first hour or so, and then it was simply loud and uncomfortable for the next two days. I cannot recommend it as a form of travel unless you are comparing it to any other form of long distance overland travel. Perhaps I shall try a ship on the return trip?

It is cold here - truly and really cold! I am told that I have missed the snow by only a week, though I cannot imagine it being any colder than it is already.

I cannot speak yet of my new situation, as I have only just arrived. I wanted to send a letter as quickly as possible to assure you all that I have safely arrived.

Sincerely, Celeste

(pretend I sent essentially the same letter to the orphanage, Jeanne, and Cole)
