Dear Jeanne,
I was so very happy to get your letter in the post today. Really, it's been a sad week here, as Celeste has packed up and left as well, settin' her sails for Philadelphia. Apparently the memories 'round here of Erin's passing were too much for her. Maybe it's for the best, but I surely do miss her.
With so many of us gone now, the place feels pretty lonely. Just me and Ella, Cal, Deco, Jefferson, and Val of course. There's more than enough work to keep us all busy, naturally, but the Blacks are seeing the writing on the wall, what with half of their charges moving out in the space of a month. So they're starting to think about taking on fewer guests. Of course Abner's still around, keeping Mr Black sane and all. I get to man the front desk now for 3 days a week, which is a nice change. Feels downright grown up, and much better than changing linens all the time.
That's quite an amazing photo you got yourself! You take that good luck, and you run with it, and don't stop runnin'! And if your luck ever runs out, we'll be here for you. You just let me know! Thanks for the clipping. I've posted it on the wall of the orphanage bedroom for all to see. Makes me proud every time I see it. By the time you come home, you'll be famous, for sure.
Much love,
Ollie
