1866.12.03.JeanneGigsAFrogPrivate - This event occurred during the later part of afternoon chores, when Cal and Shawn were racing frogs in the garden, and Jeanne and Minnie were working. If you think you'd be there, just let me know! <#jonah: If Cal and Shawn are goofing off, then it means that the linen work is basically done, so Ollie would be there. #> <#bill: If all the boys are there...then I think Cole would be there as well. #>
<#court: This evening in the tower, Cal and Shawn come up and say thank you to Jeanne. They look somewhat impressed, and ask her about gigging a frog. In a combination of words and mime, Jeanne shows them. She goes back into the bedroom for a minute and comes back with her frogging gig, which she shows off and then returns. #>
Shawn is more thankful than Cal (Though they both thank her) Cal is definitely impressed by Jeanne's non squeamishness with Frogs, and uses it as an opportunity to gently tease Minnie who squeals at just the thought of slimy things.
<#ann: Late afternoon makes me think the kitchen is busy with dinner, so Celeste is probably not there. What do you do with the frog once it's dead? Bring it to the kitchen for cooking, try to build a fire and cook it yourself, hide the evidence? #>
<#court: Jeanne comes in the kitchen with a wet but clean frog, still bleeding a little from several holes. It looks as if it has been skewered several times. She has a quick conversation with Louis (in French) asking if he could use it for frog legs. He considers, looks a little amused, and says he could if he had more. Jeanne looks excited and hurries out of the kitchen. She returns later, muddy, with several more frogs, all with much neater and smaller holes. #>
She gets in some degree of trouble (minor) from Ms. Lizzy for being muddy. "Girl, what have you been getting into!"

Cole might be involved in the frog racing too if you want Bill.
<#court: It is probably not clear at first blush, but if you ask, Cal or Shawn would probably end up answering. The gist is that Shawn had marked a frog with paint for racing, but it darted away after the race on an intercept-course with Mr. French. Jeanne gigging it probably saved him from a beating. #>
<#ann: Celeste has never actually eaten frog legs, so she is eager to try them. #><#jonah: Ollie is a bottomless pit in which to place frogs' legs. #>
I'm not sure how common frogs legs are but I think that would be a dish that Louis has cooked before. I dont know if its common though. (e.g. Celeste may have had them before). Though Im okay with her never having had before this point so its a better story...
