At the sewer door on the slab.

<#bill: Alaistar turns, "Good morning, Mi-yen. Are you feeling better?" #>

<#kate: "Much, thank you.” She looks around at the empty slab. “Is everyone else well?"#>

<#bill: "You two are the first I've seen this morning. Though we have a bit of a reprieve on our departure time. Perhaps they've already gotten the message and gone back to bed."#>

She looks very refreshed and has new clothes and a matching bandana.

<#kate: "How long do you think the others will be?" she asks as a wintry gust cuts over the slab.#>

<#bill: "I expect to hear from Santiago and Devi sometime after 10. They've gone ahead to scout. Devil will be teleporting us in."#>

<#kate: "So we're not leaving for another hour at least?"#>

Serena growls.

<#bill: Alaistar nods. He looks at Serena. "But when we arrive, the action should begin quickly." He looks back at Radley. "And since a herd of us won't be flying in or taking the sewers, our attack will hopefully be more of a surprise."#>

<#kate: "So you are planning on attacking?"#>

<#bill: Alaistar nods. "We need to get the information, Pappas has on his person. I see no other way. And," he adds as kind of an afterthought, "he won't hurt to send a message to anyone else who's considering an attack on the guild."#>

<#kate: "So you're planning on a frontal assault once you have his location?"#>

<#bill: "The plan, of course, is subject to change per any intel Santiago and Devi retrieve, but yes. We are going in with overwhelming force." He smiles, "We hope. Have you decided what you are doing?" #>

<#kate: She blows out a misted breath. "I hadn't anticipated a direct confrontation. I'm usually better at something more subtle especially since I know Pappas would be interested in getting his hands on me. But if all you need is muscle....I assume the portal's going to open up where Pappas is, like in his face?"#>

<#bill: "Again, it will depend on the news from Santiago and Devi. I anticipate a bit of a chat before the actual assault begins. There is of course, a place for you, regardless. We’d be honored to have your muscle. But if you'd prefer something more subtle, perhaps we can sneak you in before our attack and you can use the attack to your benefit."#>

<#kate: "It seems like everything depends on what Devi and Santiago discover. Until then, planning anything more detailed seems useless. If I was on the ground now, I could probably do more, but since we're waiting," she rubs at the thin sleeves of her shirt, "I'd rather wait where it's warm." #>

<#bill: Alaistar nods, "I was headed in myself." He looks at Serena and motions her inside with his head.#>

Serena nods.

<#kate: She goes back inside.#>

<#bill: As they start to walk, "We had considered sending you with Devi. But thought you could use the rest."#>

<#kate: "I definitely needed it. She couldn't bring me there now though could she?"#>

<#bill: "We don't really have a way to contact her to ask. Santiago was going to be working on the communicators while they traveled."#>

<#kate: She nods.#>


You all arrive at the kitchen where Virgil, Chen, Nemo, Renji, Fio, and Elana are in attendance.

<#court: "Good morning"#>

<#kate: "Morning."#>

<#jonah: Fio: "What's up"#>

<#kate: She goes and bites into some fruit.#>

Virgil says, "Not many conventional ones.' Nemo says, "WE CREATED WATER GRENADES AND LASERS CAPABLE OF DEALING DAMAGE TO THEM, THOUGH HOW MUCH IS UP FOR DEBATE."

<#bill: "Good morning, all."#>

<#kate: "Dealing damage to what?"#>

<#jonah: "Wraitzss..."#>

<#court: "For those of us who are pretty useless otherwise," adds Elana.#>

<#kate: "I haven't seen either of you being useless."#>

<#court: "Against wraiths, specifically."#>

<#kate: Shrugs and chews.#>

<#bill: "Conventional means certainly work on the bodies...you just need to deal a lot of damage fast."#>

<#jonah: Fio cocks an eye.#>

<#bill: Alaistar: "So have the rest of you heard the report that we will be leaving a bit later than planned?"#>

<#jonah: "But tze wraitz tzemselvs? Basically run tze fuck away?" #>

<#ann: The large shadow on the floor starts send sending tendrils off the edges. More like "hey I want your attention"#>

<#court: "Later than 9:00?"#>

<#kate: "I think time's up." She motions with her half eaten fruit at the shadow.#>

<#bill: Alaistar looks at the portal. "Perhaps not..."#>

<#jonah: Fio starts frantically grabbing anything edible and stuffing it in his mouth.#>

<#bill: "Santiago and Devi went to do recon. We're portalling in, but it looks like they're quicker than expected."#>

Only a few pieces of fruit

<#court: Elana snags a piece of fruit and stuffs it in her pocket.#>

<#bill: Alaistar goes over to the portal.#>

<#kate: She offers Fio the other half of her apple.#>

<#jonah: He takes it and eats it, core and all.#>

<#kate: She grins. “Not quite Geneva."#>

<#bill: Alaistar looks back at Virgil. "Please be sure to check in on Jacob."#>

Virgil nods.

<#bill: He turns and steps into the portal.#>


<#court: "Radley, we need to talk." She drops back into a corner with Radley, or just out the door... not to have everyone looking)#>

<#kate: "Sure," she says, glancing at the portal through which Alaistar just stepped.#>

<#court: (hanging back in line for the portal)#>

<#jonah: Fio munches happily.#>

Serena shrugs and follows Alaistar.

<#court: "I had a communication from Spencer... he seems concerned that the weave has dropped in priority. Said we need to make the weave, find the boy... said you must not have done what he asked you to do, if we ended up where we are now?" looks at her questioningly.#>

<#kate: "I thought we decided together against making it..."#>

<#court: "Yes. We did, or at least we decided that we didn't know how... I heard from Spencer just early this morning. I wasn't sure what he was referred to -- not trying to push any blame on you, wasn't sure if there was something else he was referring to that I didn't know about."#>

<#kate: "The only thing I remember him suggesting is the loom."#>



<#kate: "Which we decided against, even though we had the," she mimes drawing like Elana had done in the Lab. "At this point though, it might have to wait a little longer," she says, motioning at the portal.#>

<#court: "If I recall correctly, we had the plans, but did not know how to translate them for the machine to build it. Not that we particularly tried..."#>

<#jonah: I guess if Elana and Radley aren't talking audibly for Fio, then he'll finish his fruit and walk through the portal. "I hope tzere is some toast or eggs or sometzing. I'm still hungry. See you on tze otzer side?" To Elana and Radley, before he steps through.#>

<#court: "Yes, that seems practical at this point. But perhaps when this is finished...." She nods at Fio.#>

<#kate: "Yes, but from what I remember there’s a set of digits we need in order to make the lab function. I'm not sure where to get those.... but we can certainly add that to the to do list," she says with a weary smile.#>

<#court: Elana smiles back and moves towards the portal.#>

<#jonah: Fio, seeing Elana coming, waits for her.#>



<#kate: Radley takes up reguard and gives the remaining folks a wave before being the last through the portal.#>

<#jonah: Fio takes Elana around the waist, and walks through.#>

<#court: Elana, surprised, walks through the portal, via Fio.#>


IN THE HOTEL

Alaistar walks out of a wall into a nice hotel room. The shadow is projected on a wall. Sanitago is sitting on the bed.

<#bill: "So," he say with a smile. "You made excellent time." He puts his hand out for a communicator.#>

"Tailwind." He shrugs, as Serena appears. "Where are the others?"

<#bill: "Coming. I heard Elana saying something as I stepped through. I'm sure they'll be along in a moment. Where exactly are we?"#>

"The hotel where the old bastard is staying."

<#bill: "Anyone else of note staying here?"#>

"I don’t know Senor. I worried that any additional hacking might have alerted Pappas to us."

<#bill: "Do you know if he is present currently?"#>


Fio and Elana step into a nice hotel room. Alaistar, Serena, and Santiago are here.

"Greetings Senor, Senorita!" Sanitago says.

<#bill: Alaistar smiles at Fio and looks back at Santiago. "Any chance you already ordered room service?"#>

"No senor, but there is the mini fridge." He indicates the small fridge. Santiago is pointing at the mini fridge as Mi-yen walk in.

<#bill: Alaistar looks back at Santiago, still waiting for an answer.#>

Everybody

Let me sum up the last few minutes. Everyone arrives in the kitchen. Portal wiggles its tendrils as Elana and Radley have a side conversation. Alaistar walks though the portal. Serena walks though the portal. Elana and Radley finish their conversation and Fio halts his walk though the portal to hug Elana and go through. Radley walks motions farewells to those left behind and walks through the portal.

On the other side of the portal is a nice hotel room. Santiago is there, besides the others who walked though the portal. When people walk in Santiago and Alaistar are talking.

Santiago says, "His current schedule as of my last hack, has him in room 9001. Top floor. And in a conference room at noon.

<#ann: Once everyone is through, I drop the portal, since iirc that was the plan.#>

<#kate: Radley goes to the window and peeks through the blinds.#>

<#jonah: Fio asks, "what room we in now? what floor?"#>

"3rd floor." Santiago says.

<#bill: "We will need a way to do this without hurting innocents. And without making the Agency too angry," he says looking at Elana and smiling an innocent smile.#>

"Room 245"

<#jonah: "And 9001 is on 00th floor? Or what?"#>

Santiago flips open his PDA, "50th floor"

<#court: Elana fiddles around on her phone.#>

<#jonah: Fio to Santiago: "You got plans for tzis place yet?"#>

He nods. "Public record."

<#kate: "Sounds like we could go through the roof...."#>

He flips his PDA so you can see it and you see blueprints displayed on the screen.



<#bill: "Who is the meeting with at noon?"#>

"Surface level hack didn’t say." Santiago says.



<#kate: "But it's whomever he's giving the drive to or was that just an assumption?"#>

Santiago says, "The drive is his personal harddrive. His brain. He’s not giving it to anyone, we are taking it."

<#bill: "Devi, do you think you could use your portals to isolate a floor, or even a room? Perhaps make it soundproof as well?"#>

<#ann: Devi humanizes. "I am not understanding what you are wanting when you say "isolate a room."#>

<#bill: "No one in or out. Keeps him from running out, innocents from running in."#>

<#kate: She looks to Santiago, "is there anyone in the conference room now?"#>

<#ann: "I can be doing such for a doorway, yes."#>



"I have no way of knowing. Again any hacks that I do have the potential in exposing our position to the old bastard.

<#kate: "I was thinking of just asking the concierge."#>

<#bill: "Do you have sense of what his security is like?" Alaistar asks Santiago.#>

"The low level stuff had him traveling with his standard security detail. I can speculate if you like..."#>

<#court: Elana leans over and shows Fio something on her phone.#>

<#ann: "I can be making the room so that he cannot be getting out...but my portals are being made of shadows. If he is bringing a flashlight, or is having reinforcements with bright lights, it will not be working." #>

<#bill: Alaistar nods, "Thank you," he says to the Devi.#>

Sernea says, "We have the firepower, let’s just take the roof then take the man."

<#ann: "It will also be hard to be hiding that he is walking into a dark room, so he will be suspicious."#>

<#kate: She cocks an agreeing brow to Serena’s comment.#>

<#ann: "Why are we needing the roof?"#>

<#kate: "We go through the roof to the conference room."#>

<#ann: "Why not just portal into the conference room?"#>

Serena grins "Well I guess we can tear though 48 floors instead."

<#jonah: Fio looks at Elana, somewhat grumpy but undeterred.#>

<#ann: "or is it warded?"#>

<#bill: Alaistar wants to talk but I'm waiting for someone to answer Devi...#>

<#kate: She cocks an eyebrow at Elana one that seems to ask if things are okay.#>

Santiago shrugs, "It’s a mundane hotel, but I do not know with who the bastard is meeting."

<#bill: "I have two primary concerns. First, a big fight in a populated hotel risks the lives of innocents. Second, we need to make sure he doesn't teleport away." He looks at Santiago, "Can you stop him from teleporting away?"#>

"I am the Saint. There is nothing I cannot do."

<#kate: "What if we just let the meeting start, put a portal around Pappas' head and then cut the damn thing off? Head being whatever's got the harddrive information"#>

<#ann: "No, I am not being an assasin!"#>

<#ann: She looks aggrieved.#>

<#court: Elana leans over and briefly shows Alaistar her phone as well.#>

<#jonah: Fio: "Devi, what exactly are we here to do, tzen?"#>

<#kate: "I believe he's all machinery at this point," she says to Devis' aggrieved-ness.#>

<#bill: Alaistar reads and nods to Elana. "I suggest the following:"#>

<#ann: "Even if I would do it, we are not knowing where he is keeping his hard drive, yes? He could be like those horrible robot things and moving it around."#>

<#kate: "I thought you knew?" she says to Santiago.#>

"It will be inside of him, next to his power core." He points at his chest near his heart.

<#bill: "We send in a small team at first to start a fight and get things going. The rest of wait at a location we pick - somewhere remote. The first teams starts the fight, and Devi during the fight teleports Pappas to the remote location. There's a team waiting there for him. Those that started the fight here follow. And then we all fight him together."#>

<#ann: "What is stopping his reinforcements from coming to? Or from keeping him from teh portal? I will be having to make him fall through it, there is always the chance that someone will grab him before he falls. Unless we take the entire room and all of the people in it."#>

<#ann: someone remind me how much time we have until the meeting?#>

<#bill: 3 hours.#

<#bill: "Even if some of his reinforcements follow, it should be less than the total number that will be here.” #>

<#bill: "It will but up to the initial strike team to help you get him through a portal and minimize his people from helping him or going through. Once he is through, the team retreats to a designated location nearby where you open a new portal and pick them up."#>

<#kate: "Why don't we just take him now?#>

Serena nods in agreement.

<#bill: "Because it's a risky fight to have to the finish in a hotel like this. We risk people and we risk the agency breaking it up before we can finish."#>

<#kate: "No, do your plan of portaling him elsewhere and taking him down but just do it now."#>

"And a more complex plan is more likley to have any number of parts fail senor."

<#jonah: Fio "We shoulda portaled him back to tze guild..."#>

<#court: Elana pipes up, "It would be best to keep this under the radar, as far as the Agency is concerned."#>

<#bill: "I have no objection to portaling him as soon as we have a plan. As far as the complexity...the easiest would be for Devi to portal him by herself, but I'm afraid his seems to have the ability to detect her...she might need help"#>

<#kate: "If you need to lure him somewhere," she says, crossing her arms and seeming disgruntled, "you have bait. It worked in Brussels. Then grab him when he comes out for a sniff. I’ll be there with Devi."#>



<#jonah: Fio: "He will be weakest when he is moving between rooms in tze hotel. Tzat is when we should take him."#>

"And where do you plan to take him Senor?"

<#bill: "Somewhere isolated where we can take the fight to the finish. I'm sure Devi can find somewhere."#>

<#ann: "I am not knowing Japan very well...it would need to be a place I can get to in an hour or so.”#>

"Somewhere? The old bastard is crafty, he will not fall for a simple trick. We strike him hard and fast. Simple. We might ding up the hotel a bit, but I think we can survive."

<#kate: "You could take him over water if we don't do it here."#>

<#court: Elana is checking maps on her phone for a remote location... something open, maybe unpopulated area by the water??#>



<#bill: "it's not a trick, Santiago. It's a fight. Devil will never have a better chance at teleporting him than when he's busy defending himself."#>

<#court: to Santiago: "I agree that leaving the hotel is probably best if this might get big. Not only may the Agency intervene, but I will personally be held responsible if there is a scene."#>

"Senor, why are you obsessed with teleporting him. I am telling you he will not be falling into a hole."

<#bill: Alaistar looks at Mi-yen/Radley. "I'm sure he'd come for you. But not alone, and I'm not sure far enough from here to be sufficiently isolated."#>

He punches his PDA, there are 150 guests registered in this hotel. The Agency can call it a pipe burst on the top floor of the hotel. We take him out here. Now, clean.

<#kate: "Or we just pull the fire alarm."#>

"If we are going to wait till we have the bastard isolated on a mountain top we might as well just scrub the mission now."

<#court: Elana nods in acquiescence.#>

<#kate: Nods in agreement.#>

<#jonah: fio leans over and speaks quietly to Elana.#>

<#kate: "We came here to get the hard drive. Doing it before the meeting seems to make it us against Pappas and not include whoever he's meeting."#>

<#court: Elana whispers back, shaking her head.#>

<#kate: Looks to Santiago. "Is there anything we could do to debilitate him in his room for even only a moment, giving the opportunity to either get him away or jump him?"#>

"I plan to databomb his systems, I don’t know how much but it should slow him down and prevent teleportation for a few moments."

<#bill: Alaistar looks at Fio, "I agree...it should be before the meeting." He looks back at Santiago, "he'll never be isolated that way unless we make him be. That's what i"m suggesting. If my plan fails. if he's to crafty to be forced into a portal, then we adapt. Devi portals the second team in and we continue the attack."#>

<#ann: "You are having the blueprints, Santiago. How secure is the structure of this building being? If we are destroying it around our ears, will it be collapsing and taking out the entire block?"#>

<#court: Elana shows Fio her phone.#>

<#kate: "What if we databomb him, jump him and push him through the portal, getting him elsewhere and then get the hard drive?"#>

Santiago sighs and shrugs in acquiescence to Alaistar. He turns to Devi, "Like all buildings in Japan it is built to withstand earthquakes, but..." He shrugs.

<#court: Elana says, "Just in case it's helpful -- Are these building plans any more detailed than yours, Santiago?" showing him her phone.#>

He takes the phone and looks. "They are about the same, there are some additional overlays that you have..." He taps the phone. "And now I have the same."
