Physical Appearance: Tall and thin with dark black hair that is edged with gray.
Description: A stern man, Mr. Black liked to keep to himself and never spoke with the orphans in his care. He liked to smoke a pipe and, in the evenings, to drink. The generally seems sad and sour. Mr. Black is a strong Confederate supporter and even after the war is over a Confederate flag hangs in the Black's apartment.
