Lara returns and says “your turn” to Fio, intending to move him into an ambulance. Lara tells Fio he has to go to the hospital where the Agency has been bringing people. Lara checks him out.

The other ambulance crew shows up in hazmat suits.

Lara puts Fio in room A, seals it, then puts it in the ambulance.

As it is unsealed from the tent, Fio has a horrible coughing fit. A tennis ball size of gray gloop comes out of his mouth, it turns into a perfect sphere.

Lara picks it up, it’s very heavy.

Fio reaches out and takes it back: “It happens from time to time.” He says it is the same as the scabby stuff.

Lara accepts this answer.

Ambulance drives off with Fio and Lara in it.

Lara is in the ambulance cab with Hazmat people. Lara notices through the ambulance window that the patient has sat up. She goes into the back of the ambulance.

She makes him sit down so she can examine him. She tests him for plague. He comes out clean.

Lara: “How did you do that???”

Fio: “I don’t know. I’m serious, I don’t know.”

Lara: “You started feeling fine? Before or after the…ah…hairball?”

Fio: “After, it was related.”

Lara: “I think your scabs were working on the inside.”

Fio: “My body does strange things someimtes.”

Lara: “The researchers at the hospital would love to see this, it might help us figure out about the plauge and how to keep it form happening again.”

Fio is about to say something but there is a thud from the front of the ambulance. Everything looks fine.

Fio: “I don’t think this is going to work. I’ll bring it back, but I can’t give it to you right now.”

Lara: “Where are you going to take it? It could be as bad as the plague.”

The guy who was driving comes in with a dart gun: “Sorry Doc, I can’t let you have it.”

He presses the button to dart her. Lara notices that no one is driving the ambulance, but it’s still driving perfectly, including signaling. Lara cannot dodge. She waves her hand and cuts the flying dart in two. He looks very surprised that his dart gets cut in two. Fio hits her from behind to knock her out. Lara is knocked out.


Lara starts coming to. She is on a gurney and appears to be back at the Royal Hospital.

Sam is on the phone

Sam: “Yes, Lara’s ok and is knocked out I’ll get whatever information I have to you as soon as I can. Fio has disappeared I have no idea how to track him. Better get Victoria.”

Lara tries to sit up.

Sara: “Lara, Lara, did you get the cure? Is Fio contaminated?” Does Sam know his name? I don't believe that Fio ever actually introduced himself to Lara as Fio so I'm not sure if Sam is aware of his file enough to use his name?

Lara: “No, he’s clean.”

Sara: (into her phone) “Yeah, Fio’s clean, we don’t have to lock down globally. I’ll do a full debrief once my assignment is ok. Thanks Pete.”

Sam puts her hand on Lara's shoulder, coaxing her back into laying down and Lara slips off again into a restless sleep.


Royal Hospital, London

Lara wakes up again and Sam is by her bedside.

Lara: “How are my patients?”

Sam: “They’re fine, the only one left alive is recovering.”

Lara: “What about the Russian.”

Sam: “He vanished. Teleporter.”

Lara: “After he attacked me? Where did he go?

Sam: “We don’t know.”

Lara: “Did you get the ball.”

Sam: “No he took it with him. What is it?”

Lara: “I think it was his body’s way of purging the plague.”

Sam: “That’s fun.”

Lara: “It looked solid enough, but if anyone knew what it was, I don’t know what they could do with it.”

Sam: They have good agents on his tail, but with a long range teleporter he could be anywhere.”

Lara: “How did they get in the ambulance.”

Sam: “We’re working on that. The driver was with him.”

Lara: “Are you okay? How did you get out.”

Sam: “The suits are bulky they missed and I’m a good faker.”

Lara: “I won’t tell james.”

Sam laughs.

Lara: "Thanks..."

Sam: "It's my job..."

Lara: "Still..."

Sam smiles and Lara sits up to give her a hug. Once she's settled back down on to the bed, Lara takes a deep breath.

Lara: “So what about everyone else? They didn’t do anything else to the site, right, They just took the russian guy?”

Sam: “Yes, they’re gone everyone’s okay. Most of the agency has left.”

Lara: “To go where?”

Sam: “Back to their jobs, the quarantine’s been broken, there’s no more patients, there’s no more infected.”

Lara: “So that’s it.”

Sam: “Hopefully.”

Lara: “Where's Joe.”

Sam: “He’s playing cowboy with Pete in Africa.”

Lara: “What’s going down? Is it the plague?”

Sam: “No, I don’t have the clearance to know, but from Joe, I think they’re going in for recon, it sounds like friends form his youth are back.
Some Lost folks.”

Lara: “Like the other guys?”

Sam: “Yeah. What they’re doing in africa I don’t know.”

Lara: “Does he need help?”

Sam: “Doesn’t seem like it. It’s a good team. I’m sure they wouldn’t say no. But it’s dangerous.”

Lara: “ It’s Joe, he can’t be by himself.”

Sam: “He’s a grown man.”

Lara: “But he can still be hurt, I can’t tell dad that I let him do that.”

Sam: “You're Dad let him run around in Amsterdam for years Joe’s been with us since before you were born.”

Lara: “But I’m born now and I feel like I should help. What do you think I could do?”

Sam: “They could always use a good doctor...If you were there, waiting when they got back?”

Lara nods

Sam: “I’ll make some calls you ready to fly?”

Lara: “They’re not after anything else, are they?”

Sam: “I don’t know, what I have I have from Joe.”

Lara: “I thought that was taken care of in August.”

Sam: “Just because you kill the figurehead doesn’t mean the cult goes away. You look concernced.”

Lara: “Let me know when were’re ready to go.”

Sam: “Lara, I’m in full support of doing this, but the world is a big and dangerous place, if you start going down this path, there’s not going back.
It’s never going to stop.”

Lara: “Yes, but it’s dangerous for Joe now and I owe Pete...”

Sam: “Yes but Joe chose that.”

Lara: “And so can I.”

Sam: “Joe won’t like it much.”

Lara: “He didn’t like it when I showed up in London. And that was them asking me, this is me asking you.”

Sam: “I’ll make the calls.”


On Atlantis

Sam has made calls, and she and Lara are landing on Atlantis. The helicopter lands and as Lara is getting out she hears Peter’s voice.

Pete: “No absolutely not, get back on the helocopter, you’re not coming to Africa”

Lara shoulders the bag and doesn’t move. Sam is behind Lara. Joe in background looking stern.

Lara: "No...I'm going to be here when you get back and make sure you stay in one piece." She straightens her shoulders, "But we'll go if you want us there."

Peter stands silenced for a moment. Then nods, "Come with me," and turns leading the entourage back down into the bowels of Atlantis.

Elana ad Lara exchange nervous but friendly smiles. Elana asks Lara if there's anything that she'd need and then requests Hawk to get some medical equipment.

In the bowels, everyone is getting in the circle, there are about 7 people in a 10 ft circle.

Melissa comes in and exchanges smiles with Joe. Lara and Sam maneuver off to the side to watch the exit. Lara and Sam both exchange a smile with Melissa.

Peter: “Alright we go in and establish base camp. No one leaves camp until it’s secure.”

Peter goes into his pocket and pulls out a black cigarette case with a red velvet interior and several silver pins. He gives one to Elana and one to Joe then snaps the case closed.

Peter: “If there’s trouble, or we’re separated jab that pin into your arm until it draws blood. Melissa will know. It’s your life line. Alright everybody, hold on to your butts.”

Melissa floats up in to the air, things get brighter for those in the circle and her hair is floating very prettily around her.

When they are gone : On Atlantis Lara talks with Melissa to give her contact information to use to call in an a Doctor that can be more effective than the average bear. Melissa gives her a pin. Lara get things set up to be ready for the teams return and be able to attend to anything that they might have endured and helps out with any other medical issues on board.
