The Gates Corporation is the business front for the Benjamin Gate's various operations around the globe. On a mundane scale, the Gates Corporation is a manufacture of Computer Processors and Robotics. Their main source of income are defense contracts for AI computer systems and robots built for war.
On the metaphysical side of the coin, it as a corporation, has made most of its money by being the largest holder of Cold Steel in the modern world. In 1900 Benjamin Gates invented a process by which Cold Steel could be located on a massive scale and using this technology dredged up massive amounts of unforged Cold Steel from the bottom of the ocean.
In the year 2007 the Gates Corporation has been struggling. It has lost much of its market share to its European Rival, Innovation. Over the summer they had one of their main factories in northern France destroyed in a fire, then the experimental AI jet they were developing for the Japanese government went missing, and for the past few months their CEO, Benjamin Gates has been missing.
All this bad news has been recently taken care of it seems by a reported merger with Innovation. The true stock market outcome remains to be seen.
