Summary:
The Cult is a group of individuals, metahuman and human alike that believe in a once thought dead religion, the religion believes that the human machine is imperfect, and can be improved upon with technology. They are at a technological level well beyond anything that exists in the current era. They were sporting Uzi’s in the middle ages and their technology has only expanded from there. The members are more machine than human at this point and extremely long lived, while small they are individually powerful and often will supply this powerful technology to the highest bidder.Very fundamental members of this religion focus on purely mechanical inventions, clockwork mostly, from where the religion gets its name. Rejecting electrical, and magnetic power entirely, relying on steam, and motion only. They can make fantastical devices that run only using these two properties, simulating anything modern science can create. This is of note because normal technology will fail in the presence of RuneCraft, where purely mechanical devices do not. This allows these Clockwork masters to combine the best that technology has to offer with the best that RuneCraft does, creating weapons and technology that outdo both.
Many of the Cult exist, and push technology as a way to beat death, and some of the core tenants of the religion revolve around the idea that a mechanical clock will keep ticking long after a human heart has stopped. While many of the Cult end up being power mad, and using their technology for evil ends, many simply believe technology to be "the right way" and want to live forever.
