A perfect circle with a diameter of 13 miles with a floor of black sand. Along the edge of the circle is a wall of obsidian like stone, smooth and cold to the touch. The walls ever so gently curve, giving the impression that the realm is actually within a sphere that is halfway filled with sand. The 'sky' is a dark field flooded with specks of light similar to stars. Theories exist that each 'star' represents a soul as these points of light are constantly twinkling, winking out and reappearing in the sky.

At the center is a circular seal that is 13 feet across. The seal is the only source of light besides the stars within the entire realm. The seal contains floating, glowing runes of every language arranged in a way that uses no words or phrases, but contains a meaning all unto itself based upon the combination of characters and their placement within the seal structure.

There are two known ways to reach the Shadow Realm. The simplest is to be come weaponization weaponized. A weaponized individual can exchange places with their form that exists in this realm through contact with their weaponized item. The second method is to use a mirror built in the Shadow Realm with a corresponding mirror of the exact same dimension in the Physical Realm. A weaponized individual places their weapons in the exact same place on the mirror in both Realms. The individual can then pass through the mirror but in doing so they leave their physical body behind and enter the Shadow Realm as the form that they would have in this other realm. This individual trails behind them 13 silver cords that travel from their back into the mirror through which they had entered. Theories speculate that these cords are links tying an individuals body with their soul.

This place has no laws of physics as we understand them. If a human mind was subjected to the sahdow realm with no safe guards they would go completely and irrevocably insane. As the human mind is not set up to deal with a reality void of physical laws such as time, gravity, distance, light, dark and so on. The human mind cannot even process a thought without the electrical impulses that transfer from one neuron to the next.

Therefore I believe that the weaponization process creates a safeguard for the human mind. When a person travels to this place what they see,hear and feel is an elaborate illusion that is the weapons attempt to take the experiences within this place that lacks an understandable form into one that can be comprehended by the mind. The process translates the alien impulses that exist in this alternate reality, simulating distance, time and space so that the human mind may operate in a semi normal state.
