Summary
Maka is born of human parents in the Aleuqit tribe. During a long period of poor hunting and subsequent starvation, Maka goes on an expedition to try and find food and better resources for his people. During his travels, Maka is caught in a large storm and ends up taking shelter on another island. He returns to discover his tribe has been eliminated during the TheBattleofQaxchikdax Battle of Qaxchikdax and falls into a deep depression after finding his family, friends and entire people decimated. This emotional instability enables HeWhoDoesNotSleep He Who Does Not Sleep to draw Maka onto the island Qaxchikdax and finally passing into this world by inhabiting Maka's body like a shell, creating the first Wraith. Possessed by HeWhoDoesNotSleep He Who Does Not Sleep, Maka is trapped on the island but is empowered by the wraiths abilities. The other tribes, upon seeing the power of Maka, cordon off the island preventing anyone from landing since they cannot defeat Maka.
Maka is killed in 1343 BCE by a Aleut warrior, Isux who uses his metahuman water abilities and dealing the final blow with the ShardoftheDarkStar Shard of the Dark Star. Unbeknown to Isux, the Wraiths in China have been combining their forces over the years to weaken HeWhoDoesNotSleep He Who Does Not Sleep, enabling Isux to be able to battle Maka and be victorious. Upon his victory, Isux takes the ShardoftheDarkStar Shard of the Dark Star back to his people as proof of Maka's defeat.
