A "spark" is the elemental characteristic responsible for the metahuman gift. It travels from one life to the next, and those who inherit it often exhibit metahuman abilities. Sometimes it is carried in the bloodlines of particular families, such as the KnightFamily Knight Family or the MohammedFamily Mohammed Family. Sometimes it will visit only one member of a particular family.
Its characteristics are not well understood, however it is rumored that the ShuttleOfArachne Shuttle of Arachne can be used to track a particular spark, lifetime to lifetime.
One spark, called the LifeSpark, is uniquely powerful. There is only one like it known to the world, and the bearer of the LifeSpark is both a powerful metahuman, as well as a persistently hunted individual.
