Born: 1988, Democratic Republic of Congo. Believed still alive.
Shesu was born in 1988, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but his family was shattered when the genocide in neighboring Rwanda spilled over into his country. His parents were captured and killed by a Hutu militia when he was 4, but he hid in the woods when the militia came, and escaped unharmed. He lived in hiding in the woods for a few days, until he got so hungry and tired that he went to forage for food in the destroyed village, where he was picked up by the Congoese army. They took him to a refugee camp for war orphans, from where he was transferred around for 6 months, until he ended up in an orphanage in Nigeria, where TuraloOso came and found him. He was 6 years old.
